Michelle Wetsch is a custom cake artist based in Wake Forest, North Carolina — known for stunning, story-led designs and flavors people remember weeks later. You'll find her studio tucked inside Flavor District on Capital Blvd.

She's especially loved for her chocolate chip cake with chocolate ganache, her mocha, and a red velvet with cream cheese frosting that has ruined other red velvets for more than a few regulars.

Before you drive away

Taking your cake home.

Secure the cake

Place the cake on your car's floorboard — not the seat. Make sure it isn't sliding during the drive.

Keep your car cold

Cakes do not like heat. Keep the A/C on for the whole drive. Never leave a cake in a parked car while running errands.

Drive safely

No sharp turns, sudden acceleration, or hard braking. Drive as if you have a full glass of water on your dashboard.

Refrigerate immediately

Keep the cake refrigerated — preferably in the box — until one hour before cutting. Don't leave it out for long stretches.

Once the cake leaves my hands, what happens to it is no longer my responsibility. I will not, under any circumstances, refund for something outside of my control. — Michelle

    Collect from Flavor District on Capital Blvd, or have it delivered to your venue. Then: enjoy.
